A journey of 1000 miles begins with but one…

I have two things motivating me:

1. For Me
2. To be more desirable, physically

I will make no concessions about this, these are my two reasons, and in that order. I want this, badly! I make the excuse that it has something to do with the area in which I live. It might, but not completely.

I CAN DO THIS! I WILL DO THIS!

Let me first say, so to quell any concern, that I am very happy with myself and suffer from no depression about my appearance. I simply want to take this fine temple and chisel the edges to make them more defined ^,^ I would like to see a somewhat flat stomach at some point in my life, so why not now!!?!

I made it out to Planet Fitness this afternoon, signed up, and finished an hour long workout. 25 minutes (5 minute cool down) on the elliptical; same on the treadmill. I focused on keeping my heart rate in the target zone for fat loss. For me, that is… (220-37) * .65 = 118-119 BPM. By the way, if you want to know yours, just put your age in the same location as where I have 37.

Yes, now you know how old I am… :p

Anyways, after a nice run on cardio, I followed it up with some time on the water-jet massage table (10 minutes) and 12 minutes in the super-weird-red-light-vibrating-standing-thing. Gotta admit, it did make me feel a bit better afterwards! With that said, I completely forgot to get my weight before I walked out the door… No worries, I will get it in the morning.

Later on, around 5, I headed over to my Box (slang for Crossfit Gym), M2 Crossfit. I spoke with the head trainer and mentioned how I am feeling better, but would like to avoid light weights. He suggested that I attend a class, so… Of course I did!

We worked on Front Squats where we did 7 sets. Each set consisted of dropping down into a full front squat and standing back up, followed by going back down and only coming up 25% of the way, then back down and completing the rep standing up the whole way. I know… CONFUSING. But, it was nice and I was able to do a very light 135lbs! I am happy with it and will cash that check any day of the week, with a back injury to deal with. Later, I completed 5000 meters on the rower… Yep, 5K… 3.1 miles ^,^ (19:59) was my time.

From my pictures that I took, you can see how I slowed down as I went along. 3K was fairly easy for me, but 4K and 5K really took their tool. I need it, though… I was missing out on all the Burpees and Thrusters and Wall Balls. Of course, what I mean by “missing” is laughing at everyone else, while gasping for air around the 3.8K mark ^,^

Oh… forgot to get my weight there, too. Ugh. HOWEVER! I did not forget to get my measurements. So, as it currently stands (in inches):

Neck – 18
L. Arm – 16
R. Arm – 16.5
Chest – 55.5
Waist – 53
Hips – 51
L. Thigh – 30
R. Thigh – 30
L. Calf – 18.5
R. Calf – 19.25

I will remeasure at the end of each month… If I forget, please remind me! I would like to see my Chest get down to around 48, Waist to 42 or 40, and my Hips to 42 or 40. The rest, wouldn’t mind seeing some growth!
