Well, I had a seriously messed up sleeping schedule the past 48 hours which put me in an awkward position. I was having trouble getting myself calibrated… ended up missing one of my workouts. Boooo!
No worries, though. Today was a day of reckoning and I paid the price! In a good way, that is. I was back at the gym for my Stronglift routine and there was little mercy given. I upped the ante on my squats, doing 335 for 5×5, with 90 second breaks. Additionally, bench press 265, 5×5; and bet over rows went up to 195, 5×5. It was nice to put on some extra weight, but I definitely felt it.
Especially now, since I am doing the 90 second breaks in between sets. The workout moves very quickly and I am absolutely spent by the end of it! I am heeding some advice from a fellow (former) athlete, giving this short-break stuff a go. Have to admit, I will be keeping this as part of my regular routine from here on out. The challenge is totally worth the added pain!
I finished off this evening, about 15 minutes ago, with Les Mills Combat 45. In many ways I feel that these workouts are better than T25. Although, T25 does more for my core strength. I will try to keep these two in a cycle until I can get my hands on P90X 3. I have heard good things and want to give it a go!
Please, leave a comment! I cannot thank all of you enough, those who continue to show your love and support for me! Believe me when I say, it is reciprocated in kind!
